I want to say thank you for all the support for us. You were a great 5th grade teacher. It was fun being in your class. You made reading pretty fun with all the book club meetings and all the quizizz. You are one of the best reading teachers out there.

I think Stella feels like she isn’t good with Mrs. Grayson’s class. In the book, in her class they have to do like writing and feels like Stella is not good with it. She doesn’t seem good with her spelling to. But sometimes we make mistakes. Like when she Good an F on the writing, even though it’s a bad grade she still try her best.
I think Stella seems scared. In the book, when Jojo and Stella tried to escape, she saw men with horses. She saw other men putting their hand up to, and sound scared when she told her parents. She did say that she saw them before too.

I gave this book 5 stars because it was a great book andI loved it.
Why my favorite character is Omar is because he would help his family around so they won’t starve and sometimes he’s nice.
My Favorite moment is when he got in America, because Omar wanted to go to America and waited until he could.
I think Omar is sad and happy. According to the text, he had to tell a story about him when he was young that was sad. Omar is growing to and feels like he doesn’t need his step mother anymore. Soon later he is going to America, leaving Fatuma by herself. It’s like he’s happy to go to America. But, sad leaving Fatuma after everything she done for her. But, as great step mother she is, she was happy for Omar and Hassan.
I think Omar feels worried and mad.. In the book, Omar barley any food to eat at home and still have to do chores. Soon when he was at school, his brother Hassan got hurt and was pretty worried about Hassan. It felt like Omar thought it was his fought for not being there for him. I think Hassan was bored at home. Until two years later they got a goat named Brownie. Omar doesn’t even like Brownie and can’t get rid of her because she makes them milk and could sell them for clothes. When they got Brownie, he felt left out because Hassan and their step-mom ‘Fatuma’ loved Brownie and she would get attention.
I think that Omar is uncomfortable. In the book, he had to do the chores and go to school. Even though he has no sisters and is the older brother he got to do the work. Some boys he sees like doesn’t like help there sister, but instead just run around and do nothing.
A Girl named Ursula who was embarrassed by her disease on her face. A cook named Ah Sam wanted to put on a circus. But needed Ursula’s help, so Ah Sam told her something to get her out of the house. Ursula was scared at first. When she started to play her harmonica, she wasn’t scared anymore and once brave again.
I gave this book 5 stars because I loved it and it was a really great book. Wuld recommend it to someone likes helping.
Amal was my favorite character because she was nice to everyone and helped others with things.
Why my favorite moment is when Alam sister was born because it feels like she can teach her to become a teacher to.
I think that Amal is a great Daughter. In the book, she cares for her parents and her siblings. She also helps working for the family and does a lot of things to. I do wonder why she talks about her mother when works at the house that she works at. I think she will be a great teacher, Since Amal helped a girl with her reading.
